Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine have been used for over thousands of years as a natural method to treat disease, prevent illness, and improve your health.
Traditional Chinese Medicine works by correcting imbalances in the body. Our physical, emotional, and mental states, as well as our relationship to our environment and the natural world affect our ability to maintain harmony. Applying the holistic view of traditional Chinese medicine natural therapy to treat and repair diseases is safe and effective.
All services are conducted by our professional Chinese medicine practitioner, Pinghe Liou.
Acupuncture, which originated in China, is a way of adjusting the body's "life energy" (Qi or Chi) flow. Acupuncture is one of the main healing treatments within Traditional Chinese Medicine. Using tiny needles into specifically defined acupoints, either by twirling or by a gentle pumping action, in order to stimulate the flow of energy or Qi, reduce inflammation, and stop pain. Acupuncture restores the balance and circulation of the body's energy to stimulate the body to repair and heal itself.
Chinese herbs work to bring the body's systems back into balance so the body can heal itself, naturally. Our practitioners diagnose diseases by feeling the pulse, watching the patient's tongue, and doing some tests. Each herbal formula is tailored for your specific condition and the underlying imbalance that is causing it. The most common ways to take Chinese herbs are in a tea, granule powder, herbal pills, or tincture. The careful adjustment of the remedy to suit the individual patient is characteristic of Chinese medicine.
Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called "AI" are burned on or very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of Qi in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences. This technique strengthens the blood, stimulates the flow of qi, and maintains general health.
Tui Na, or acupressure, works to balance disharmony in the body. Tui Na uses the Chinese medical massage techniques. Tui Na, combined with acupuncture, is very powerful to help the treatment have lasting results. This technique can help relieve muscle and joint pain while improving overall circulation.
